    1. Upper
    2. Soles
    3. Cushioning

 Upper

  • Basketball players usually like high-top shoes depending on their playing position. According to the latest survey conducted by top shoe manufacturers, only 10 to 15% of players wear low-top shoes.
  • Tennis shoes usually are low-top shoes so you can move and play freely without any major risk of injury.

 Soles

  • The basketball shoe sole has made two types of rubber: hard rubber for outdoor court and soft rubber for indoor court. The most common sole design of basketball shoes is herringbone and its derivatives.
  • The Tennis shoe sole also depends upon the court type on which you play. If you play at the clay court or the hardcourt, your choice must be a herringbone outsole pattern.

 Cushioning

  • The basketball shoes need to be bouncier as you need to jump again, so you need an extra cushion to support your landing
  • Although the cushioning is essential for every support in tennis, you usually do not jump again, and as compared to basketball, so optimum level cushioning will also work for tennis shoes.

 Conclusion

Nowadays sports are very competitive, so it is not recommended that you wear basketball shoes for tennis or tennis shoes to play basketball. The features of each shoe have been designed specifically for those sports, and your performance will be down in case of usage.
